My Dear Friend of Democracy,
Life in the West Balkans is very different.
A simple economic indicator shows the contrast: Gross domestic product (GDP) per capita.
GDP measures the total output created through the production of goods and services in a country during a year. A country's GDP per capita is calculated by dividing its total GDP by its total population.
So here are the figures for the West Balkans:
๐ธ๐ฎ Slovenia: 28,000 US dollars
๐ญ๐ท Croatia: 18,500
๐ฒ๐ช Montenegro: 10,000
๐ท๐ธ Serbia: 9.500
๐ง๐ฆ Bosnia and Herzegovina: 7,500
๐ฆ๐ฑ Albania: 6,800
๐ฝ๐ฐ Kosovo: 5,300
In comparison, this is the average within the European Union: 37,600 US dollars.
So, there is a lot to catch up on in the West Balkans, isnโt there?
See you in Europe,
Johannes
The information you provide is always welcome, however, I really love your pictures, too. This one and others were pretty captivating.
