Friends of Democracy,
Today, just this map.
It shows the furthest expansion of Nazi troops during World War II. I photographed this map on New Year's Eve last year at a US military cemetery in Epinal, France.
The map reminds us of two things.
Firstly, that if the Nazis had not been fought with all military power (especially by the British, Russians and the USA), Europe would have consisted of a single state after the war, namely Nazi Germany.
Secondly, that it is better to make it clear to dictators at the time when they think about going to war that such a war cannot be won. Adolf Hitler believed he could win. His false assumption cost millions of people their lives.
See you in Democracy,
Johannes Eber
